Elaine is an account manager in our commercial lines department. She is a vital part of the organization! Here is a quick Q&A with Elaine!

What is your role at KRA?

I am a client manager. I service a book of business for commercial accounts consisting of property and casualty, bonds, malpractice, professional liability, management liability, and cyber coverage.

What would people never guess you do in your role?

I take pride in my accounts and will review my emails from home on weekends and when I’m on vacation to look for anything pressing or that needs handling.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

The personal relationships I have developed with my clients and knowing they are satisfied with my service.

Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I worked for AON Risk Services in NY at the World Trade Center. My view was spectacular. I worked in the Service Center where we were covering accounts from other offices to the AON Global Service Center.

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?

I am a bowler. I have been bowling since I was nine years old. I average 180. I also do crafts where I make decorated lighted wine bottles and personalize them. I go to craft shows on the weekends and sell them.

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

My son, who I adopted in 2001.

What is your hidden talent or an interesting fact about you?

I have two. First, I am a survivor of the World Trade Center, walking down 92 flights of stairs, getting out of the building ten minutes before it came down. Second, I did a special on the Discovery Channel with Dr. Oz called “You Staying Young.” I was on Oprah three times, Good Morning America, and a show called Mike and Juliet.

What is your favorite movie and book? Why?

My favorite movie is Saturday Night Fever, as it brings me back to my disco days! However, I love chick flicks with a good cry and a comedy with a good laugh.

What is your motto, personal mantra, or favorite quote?

I have two: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and live every day as if it were your last.

When are you happiest?

I am simple, especially the way the world is today. I am happiest when I see my son smiling and he is happy.
