Karen started in the insurance business right out of high school. Her father and sister both worked in the business, and Karen went to work with them at Great American Insurance Company in 1980. She held various positions within the company including coder, rater, agency automation training specialist, and commercial lines processing supervisor. While working at Great American, she earned her associate’s degree in business management from Middlesex County College.

In 1998, the commercial division of Great American was sold to Ohio Casualty Insurance Company, where Karen was able to continue on remotely for the next five years. She trained their underwriting and service staff and supported the marketing representatives with quoting and placement of new business.

In 2004, Karen joined KRA in the personal lines department. She later moved to commercial lines as an account manager and, in 2010, she became the commercial lines manager. She has recently been named assistant vice president.

Karen is married with three children. She lives in South Plainfield, NJ.
