Congrats and good luck to Adam Wax’s daughter in the NCAA basketball tournament!

In case you didn’t know, Adam Wax’s daughter Emma is a freshman at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and she is a guard on the Marist Women’s Basketball Team. Incidentally, she had a stellar career in high school, finishing as the #2 all time scorer at Montville High School.

Marist was not expected to play in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, but they won their conference championship and are going to be playing Louisville in their tournament opener tonight, March 22, 2021.

Michele asked Adam to share her story:

As some of you know, my oldest daughter Emma is a Division I basketball player at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is a freshman, and her team, dealing with a very trying season with COVID and a majority of new players, were able to win both their conference regular season title and their conference tournament title – which was held in Atlantic City last week. As the winner of their conference tournament, the Marist Red Foxes automatically qualified for the National NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament in San Antonio, Texas.

She and her teammates flew to Texas early last week (in a HUGE private jet, I might add!) and they will be playing the Louisville Cardinals at 8PM this Monday night 3/22. Now, Louisville’s best player is an All-American, and they have a team stacked with great players, so the odds are against Marist, but it will be a great experience-one I definitely wasn’t going to miss-and you just never know what can happen!

Below is a nice article about the team (you won’t see Emma mentioned here as she plays sparingly but a win is a win!)

As Adam mentioned, you never know what can happen–as sportswriters often say, “that’s why they play the game!” We want to wish Adam and Emma an amazing experience and tons of luck!
